Other Points of Contact

DrugBank may collect or receive personal information from you based on your interaction with us on social media platforms, if you submit a job, intern, grant or fellow application, if you submit user feedback or a request to us, if you sign up for an account or for a subscription, or if you engage with a product or policy campaign.

We may use cookies, clear GIFs, third-party web analytics, device information, and IP addresses for functionality and to better understand user interaction with our products, services, and communications.

You can control individual cookie preferences, indicate your cookie preferences to others, and opt out of web analytics and optimization tools.

To make requests regarding your personal data, please contact us through our Data Subject Access Request Portal. If you have any other questions regarding personal data or our privacy practices, please contact us at privacy@drugbank.com. We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Contact Form Submissions

Users can choose to submit a contact form in order to be contacted by our sales team. We collect the following information for contact form submissions.

  • Topic of interest

  • Message (can optionally contain more personal information).

Form submissions are stored directly in our database and are also sent to HubSpot. Once submitted to HubSpot, the previous website usage for the user is connected to a HubSpot identifier. The purpose of storing this information is to track the user’s flow through our services, providing context to the marketing and sales team, and to enable debugging in the event of communication issues (email problems, etc.).

Server Logging

The above DrugBank services also log all incoming requests at the server level. These logs are stored locally on the server and also ingested into monitoring services (see “DataDog” below). Any personal information submitted through forms, account creation, or feedback are kept in these logs. The purpose of maintaining these logs is for troubleshooting and debugging server and application issues.

Google Analytics

Currently, all of our public-facing websites include Google Analytics in order to track aggregate website usage and performance. We make use of Google Tag Manager to manage third-party tags.

Google outlines additional information about how they use the information they capture in their Privacy & Terms Document (accessed Nov 28, 2021). The purpose of Google Analytics is to monitor the usage of our website globally, to assess the performance of content, and to understand how users interact with our website in terms of technology (E.g. mobile vs. desktop) and traffic source information.

HubSpot

We use HubSpot as our sales CRM. We utilize HubSpot tracking tools and services to monitor the path of users through our websites funnelled to contact form submissions. We store a HubSpot customer ID (VID) that is tied to a contact inside the HubSpot database. The HubSpot Privacy Document contains additional information about how HubSpot uses personal information internally. In general, by including HubSpot tracking code and embedding the HubSpot javascript package into our websites, we are enabling the collection of information.

Data We Collect
  • An anonymous usage tracking cookie.

  • A tracking cookie tied to an existing HubSpot account (if a user submits their email to a

  • HubSpot-powered form such as a contact form).

  • Page views from marketing emails.

  • Webpage usage including visited pages and timestamps.

Additional details about tracking visitors in HubSpot are available here. The purpose of the HubSpot tracking code is to allow the DrugBank sales and marketing teams to understand the flow of contacts through the DrugBank and HubSpot websites and to gauge the success of marketing communications.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity as a user and session insights tool. Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings of users using our websites. Microsoft’s general privacy policy is available here, and Clarity privacy details are available in the terms of use and in their complete list of data fields collected. Clarity captures user interactions on our websites, such as how the page has rendered and what interactions your user had on your website such as mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and so on. Personal information is not connected to these interactions, and Clarity is GDPR & CCPA ready.

Job Application Submissions

Job applicants submit personal information in the course of applying for a job. We collect the following information from job applicants:

  • Email address

  • First and Last Name

  • Country

  • Employment history, work experience and education (resume)

Submissions are stored directly in Greenhouse (https://www.greenhouse.io/ ) and/or in Indeed. They are deleted in accordance to GDPR rules (FIND OUT HOW MANY EXACTLY ) The purpose of storing this information is to sort and to identify and vet possible job candidates, and notify previous applicants of future opportunities.

Employee Personal Information

Some personal information is collected from employees. We collect information for each employee once they are employed.

  • Direct deposit information

  • T-shirt size

  • Employment history

  • Performance history and incidence history

Employee personal information are stored in BambooHR for general HR purposes, Wagepoint for payroll purposes, and Canada Life for health insurance.

The purpose of storing this information is enable payroll process, tax witholdings, administration of benefits, performance tracking and incidence tracking.
