Why am I seeing inconsistencies with Investigational Drugs and Clinical Trials data?

There are a number of reasons you might be noticing gaps and inconsistencies:

Older Trials

We currently focus on achieving high linking accuracy and drug coverage in interventional drug trials from the last 5 years. Trials older than 5 years, or drugs which have not been in clinical trials within the last 5 years, may have lower drug coverage and linking accuracy.

Common Linking Challenges

  • Vaccines: The way vaccines are named can often be unclear, which makes it hard to link them correctly.

  • Chemotherapy Regimens: Complex treatments, like the Folfox regimen, often don’t get linked properly because of their complexity.

  • Brand Names: If a trial only uses a brand name without detailed drug information, it might not link correctly until the brand is officially approved.

  • Complex Formatting and Typos: Mistakes in how trial data is formatted can also lead to linking errors.
